WHAT DO I DO WHEN MY BROUGHTS ARRIVE?

Open your box of broths, check that they are all good and that they have not lost their vacuum.

How do I check it?
If the can has lost its vacuum (air is released by pressing the safety cap), it cannot be consumed. If in doubt, contact us!

HOW ARE THEY PRESERVED?

Cooldo Broths are stored at room temperature, meaning they DO NOT REQUIRE REFRIGERATION until opened.

Once opened, it should be kept refrigerated and consumed within 3 days or frozen for up to 6 months.

Thanks to its sterilization, we've been able to extend its shelf life without the need for preservatives, allowing it to be stored at room temperature (up to 2 years). The expiration date is indicated on the packaging.

WHAT IS RECOMMENDED CONSUMPTION?

Bone broth, along with a balanced diet, can have many benefits.

Most of our clients who notice results within the first week have incorporated it into their daily routine, consuming at least 300ml three to four times a week.

Consumer ideas:

  • As an accompaniment to a meal (half portion 150ml)
  • Between meals (half portion 150ml)
  • Meal or dinner substitute (300ml serving)
  • Add it to any recipe for an extra boost of nutrients.

HOW IS IT TAKEN?

Cooldo Broths are ready to drink, just set them to the temperature you prefer: hot (not too hot!) or lukewarm.

Our recipe doesn't include vegetables, so if you find it too strong, we recommend a squeeze of lemon, which also boosts collagen synthesis. If, on the other hand, you find it too bland or lackluster, it's easy to fix: you can add salt or season with spices to your liking. Our favorites: curry, paprika, oregano, rosemary... it's very versatile! Here are more ideas.

Some people enjoy it cold as a gelée— gelatin by the spoonful. And of course, you can add it to soups or stews to incorporate it into your busy lifestyle. Feel free to try our recipes.

Why is broth at room temperature liquid and not gelatinous?

Our broth is liquid at room temperature. This is because our broth is sterilized to ensure food safety and extend its shelf life without the need for preservatives, allowing it to be stored at room temperature.

What happens during and after sterilization?

When the broth is subjected to high temperatures for sterilization in an autoclave (a large-scale water bath), some of the collagen chains are broken, and its structure changes. When refrigerated (after 24 hours of refrigeration), it returns to a dense and gelatinous state, but not to what it was before sterilization. This is due to the loss of collagen's gelling capacity during this process.

Are nutrients retained after sterilization?

This worried us too! So we ran lab tests to verify it. And yes, the broth's properties remain after sterilization.

Why are some jars more gelatinous than others?

In the autoclave, there are certain areas called hot zones that receive more heat, and this means that, within the same batch, some jars gelatinize more and others less.

We've further concentrated our recipe to ensure gelatinization after sterilization. Now, enjoy the broth! Remember that it has a two-year shelf life and does not require refrigeration until opened. Once opened, it should be kept refrigerated, and that's when you'll be able to check its gelatinous state.
