PREBIOTIC POTATOES AND SWEET POTATOES

We love potatoes and especially sweet potatoes. Why are they called prebiotics? Because this way of preparing them makes them more digestible. Why starch, especially potato starch, is transformed into resistant starch. Resistant to digestion so it is not completely digested and what is not digested is super good food for your intestinal bacteria.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes

STEPS:

  • Clean the potatoes and sweet potatoes. Put them with their skin on in the oven for an hour at 180º until they are well done.

  • Refrigerate for at least 8 hours and they are ready to eat. If you feel like eating them warm, you can peel them, cut them and heat them a little in the pan or give them a touch of wok or frying pan.

TIP: Ideally, they should spend 24 hours in the refrigerator. Cook in advance so you can enjoy them from one day to the next.
